Carry Trade calculates potential profit or loss from holding a currency pair position over time based on interest rate differentials (swap rates). You earn interest on the currency you’re long and pay interest on the currency you’re short.

Trade Direction

Long: You buy the base currency and sell the quote currency. Short: You sell the base currency and buy the quote currency.
Long
Short
Select whether you’re going long or short on the currency pair.


Trade Size
i
Enter the size of your position in lots or units. 1 standard lot = 100,000 units of the base currency.

Trade size in standard lots (1 lot = 100,000 units).



Borrow Rate
i
The interest rate you pay on the currency you’re borrowing (short). For Long positions, this is the quote currency rate. For Short positions, this is the base currency rate.

Annual interest rate you pay (borrow rate).



Lend Rate

The interest rate you earn on the currency you’re lending (long). For Long positions, this is the base currency rate. For Short positions, this is the quote currency rate.

Days Held

The number of days you plan to hold the position. Used to calculate interest earned over the holding period.

Initial Exchange Rate

The exchange rate when you enter the trade. Used to calculate FX gain/loss if you provide a final exchange rate.

Final Exchange Rate

Optional: The exchange rate when you exit the trade. If provided, calculates FX gain/loss. Leave empty to calculate interest only.

Optional: Exchange rate at trade exit (for FX gain/loss).



Account Currency
i
The base currency of your trading account. Used to display results in your account currency.
