The AFM Research Lab
The AFM Research Lab is where Ezekiel Chew and the AFM team pressure-test trading strategies. We take the strategies traders rely on — Order Blocks, Fair Value Gaps, Inside Bars and more — and test them across thousands of our own real trades and backtests to answer one question: what actually holds up in the real market?
What It Is
The internet is full of strategies that look brilliant on a single chart — Order Blocks, Fair Value Gaps, supply & demand, the latest indicator. Almost none of them come with proof. So we do the work ourselves: we take a strategy, test it across thousands of our own real trades and backtests, and record exactly how it performed — in cold, hard numbers.
No screenshots of one lucky trade. No theory. Just the data on whether a strategy holds up in the real market over a large sample — and by how much.
How It Works
The same strategy can make money or lose it depending on exactly how it’s traded. So before we trust anything, we run each strategy through more than ten variations — on our own trades and backtests, in real market conditions — to find the one version that genuinely holds up.
We begin with the strategy exactly as it’s taught across the internet — the version most traders actually use.
As Taught
Then we run it more than ten different ways — alternative entries, trend and session filters, confluence rules, risk models and tuned settings — all on our own real trades and backtests.
10+ Versions
The single version that genuinely holds up across thousands of trades becomes the AFM method. Everything else gets exposed.
The AFM Method
And when not a single version holds up? We publish the strategy as a failure — so you know exactly what to avoid.
What We Test
If traders are relying on it, we want to know whether it actually works. A few of the strategies on our research bench:
The Numbers
A strategy isn’t “good” because it won the last trade. We judge it on the numbers that decide whether it’s profitable over the long run.
No Cherry-Picking
We publish the losers, not just the winners. If a popular strategy doesn’t make money across thousands of trades, the lab says so — with the numbers to back it. That’s the entire point: you should know what doesn’t work before you risk a single cent on it.

Real backtests, real numbers — each study published as the testing is completed.

Data Over Opinion
Every method that earns the AFM name survives the lab first. Follow the research to see which strategies hold up under thousands of trades — and which ones fall apart.
